Eco-adventures, Surf and Spa Treatments

The Spanish Language Immersion program offers a variety of activities, eco-tours, classes and spa treatments that will satisfy everyone's specific interests and energy levels. You will receive a schedule of activities before arrival so you can decide what activities you want to do. We've arranged for free time every day and you have a weekend too so you'll have no problem trying it all. (We've had many guests try surfing for the first time and caught the stoke while hanging ten).

 

  • Canopy Zip Line Tour - Travelling on cables suspended high above the forest floor, you'll see this beautiful jungle landscape (and maybe a monkey or two) from a birds-eye view…literally! Our canopy zip-line tour is the HIGHEST and LONGEST in Costa Rica !
  • Mountain and River ATV Tour - This is a high-adrenaline, excitement-filled trip along side the jungle rivers and mountain tops!
  • River Kayaking Tour - Paddle your way down the beautiful Rio Nosara. You'll definitely see some of the exotic wildlife that call the river home, including a variety of birds and possibly some crocodiles!
  • Electric Motorboat Bird Watching Tour - Relax as you cruise down the Rio Nosara in a silent motorboat while enjoying the sights and sounds of the jungle.
  • Beach and Jungle Horseback Tour - Enjoy the beauty of the beach and the forest while riding horseback with one of our bilingual guides.
  • Playa San Juanillo Snorkeling Trip - A private transport will take you to a secluded beach where you can explore the ocean and relax on one of Costa Rica 's secret hidden beaches. Snorkeling equipment, transportation and snacks are included.
  • Tierra Magnifica Surf Instruction Team - Whether you are standing up for the first time or already hanging 10, our bilingual instructors will offer lots of individual attention as you hit the ocean and catch some waves.
  • Sustainable Farm Tour - Travel back a 100 years to a tranquilo natural life style of simplicity and family. We'll take you far down the Rio Nosara to the end of the road, where our friends will meet you with horses to escort you further down the river to a sustainable family farm. You will learn about farming and wildlife, play in the river, ride horses and visit private waterfalls all on this amazing property. Tour includes homemade lunch cooked over an open fire
  • Waterfall Hike and Swim - Our bilingual guides will show you the secret way to this private waterfall where you can swim AND if you dare, leap off the 25 ft cliff into the pool below.
  • Sport Fishing charters – Half day and full day charters available. Bill fishing is our specialty. For a truly local, unique experience try hand-line fishing with our local guides at the river mouth.
  • Variety of Spa Treatments - From massages and facials to acupuncture, just name your treatment and we'll make it happen. Prices vary depending on treatment

 

 

SIBU Sanctuary Service Project

The Mission- “The SIBU Sanctuary was developed as a step-down release center and sanctuary for wildlife that have been orphaned, injured, or displaced, whether by natural causes or by human encroachment.”

Service Project- One afternoon we'll be going to the SIBU Sanctuary and participating in an inspirational project dedicated to community service and protecting our environment. We'll learn first hand how development and tourism are affecting the natural habitat of howler monkeys and other native Costa Rican animals and what we can do to live together with our forest friends. After listening to a presentation and a resident howler monkey, we will head out to plant trees and flowers and help improve the habitat. This is a great way for us all to get involved and help maintain the delicate balance of nature that has made Costa Rica such a popular destination around the world.

 

 

Cultural Exchange Opportunities

Coming to Nosara presents a uniquely intimate opportunity to experience the culture of this lovely sea-side town and the families that create this community. We have several opportunities for our Spanish Language Immersion Vacation guests to meet, volunteer and play with our local family friends. From lending a helping hand at the local elementary school to kickin' the ball around on the plaza, you'll make new friends and memories that will last a life-time.
