Program Schedule and Description
This specialized seminar is designed to take place over the course of two weeks for 4 hours a day, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During our high season in June and July, classes can take place in the afternoon as well, depending on the amount of participants enrolled. Outside of class, students have the opportunity to go on excursions to visit the best tourist destinations in Costa Rica , guaranteeing all participants a well-balanced mix of learning and fun while at CPI.
The program is offered year-round, but we highly recommend that participants enroll during the times when teachers are normally off for vacation, such as during spring break, summer vacation, and winter breaks.
Learning a language is a never-ending process. With this in mind, we also recommend that Spanish teachers who have more than two weeks available to study combine this specialized seminar with our Standard Spanish Program, which is also available year-round. For example, an advanced beginner student who wishes to participate in the Seminar for Spanish Teachers and stay in Costa Rica for four weeks could enroll in our Standard Spanish Program for two weeks to improve his/her Spanish and then join the seminar for the following two weeks. An advanced intermediate or advanced student could take the seminar and then continue with regular Spanish classes to improve written and oral expression. An advanced student could participate in the seminar and later continue with Spanish conversation, culture, and literature classes.
We would like to remind you that the Standard Spanish Program is designed for students of all ages; therefore, this could become a great opportunity for a family adventure! The Spanish teacher can attend the seminar classes while the kids or spouse make the most of their time by taking regular Spanish classes during the same daily class schedule. For more details about our Standard Spanish Program, please click here.
Additionally, since CPI is the only Spanish language school in Costa Rica that allows students to study in three completely different settings, participants have the opportunity to divide their time between three unique campuses: Heredia, Monteverde, and Flamingo, or they may choose to stay in the city, the mountains, or the beach for the duration of their stay. The seminar is available year-round at all three locations.
