TYPICAL ITINERARY (15 days) for structured groups up to 16 participants:

HEREDIA/FLAMINGO COMBO #1 & #3

 

  • Sunday: Arrive to San José, Costa Rica, orientation and welcome dinner

  • Monday: San José Historical Tour, Spanish classes

  • Tuesday: Poás Volcano, Spanish classes

  • Wednesday: Local community volunteer project, Spanish classes Spanish classes

  • Thursday: Tárcoles Boat Tour, Spanish classes

  • Friday: Café Britt, Spanish classes

  • Saturday: Arenal Volcano

  • Sunday: Arenal Volcano, transfer to Flamingo

  • Monday: Flamingo Beach, Spanish classes

  • Tuesday: Snorkel Cruise, Spanish classes

  • Wednesday: Tamarindo Beach, Spanish classes

  • Thursday: Santa Cruz/Guaitil tour, Spanish classes

  • Friday:  Conchal Beach,  Spanish classes

  • Saturday: Transfer to central valley - stop by Sarchi artisan center, farewell dinner

  • Sunday: Departure flight should be booked the last Sunday of the 2 week trip.

 
 
HEREDIA/MONTEVERDE COMBO #2 & #4

 

  • Sunday: Arrive to San José, Costa Rica, orientation and welcome dinner

  • Monday: San José Historical Tour, Spanish classes

  • Tuesday: Poás Volcano, Spanish classes

  • Wednesday: Local community volunteer project, Spanish classes

  • Thursday: Tárcoles Boat Tour, Spanish classes

  • Friday: Café Britt, Spanish classes

  • Saturday: Arenal Volcano

  • Sunday: Arenal Volcano, transfer to Monteverde

  • Monday: Guided hike of  Sta. Elena Cloud Forest  Reserve, Spanish classes, Frog pond

  • Tuesday: Trapiche typical farm, Spanish classes

  • Wednesday: Butterfly farm & serpentarium, Spanish classes

  • Thursday: Guided hike with focus on bird watching OR Canopy/zip line tour, Spanish classes

  • Friday:  Guided tour of hanging Bridges, Spanish classes

  • Saturday: Transfer to central valley - stop by Sarchi artisan center; farewell dinner

  • Sunday: Departure flight should be booked the last Sunday of the 2 week trip

 

 

Required level of physical fitness: MODERATE

 

ACCOMMODATION:

  • Small hotels or b&bs, all double occupancy with private baths.
  • Or single placement in homestay during language study. Couples can also be accommodated (during week-end excursion to Arenal accommodation is at a hotel).

The departure flight should be booked on the last Sunday of the 2 week trip.

All meals (from dinner first night to breakfast on departure day), Spanish instruction, comfortable, double occupancy accommodations in b&b or hotel OR homestay during language instruction, private transportation, a professional bilingual guide.
