CPI Academic Coordinators are members of the select
"ACTFL Certified Testers" network.

ACTFL, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (www.actfl.org), is the only US organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction with an individual membership of more than 7,000 foreign language educators and administrators from elementary through graduate education, as well as government and industry.

Additionally, ACTFL strives to raise public awareness about the importance of learning languages and understanding cultures. With this goal in mind ACTFL has created a standardized procedure to access functional language ability, called the OPI (Oral Proficiency Interviews). CPI is pleased to share that we have staff members who are part of a very select group of language professionals demonstrating the ability to administer and rate OPIs in the Spanish language with a high degree of reliability. OPI related ACTFL services offered at CPI are as follows:

  1. Students may request a suggested ACTFL OPI language rating (non-official). For many professional organizations this is sufficient to certify your linguistic level. Should students require an OFFICIAL OPI rating, this is arranged for by ACTFL directly. There is a fee for this service which is paid directly to ACTFL. An OFFICAL OPI rating is typically required by government organizations. For more information please contact: headquarters@actfl.org
  2. Students may sign up for private classes (restrictions apply) at CPI to prepare for an OFFICAL ACTFL rating exam.

For more information regarding prices and reservations, please email the CPI Admissions Office or our authorized Representative.
